Classes NRA Basic Pistol Shooting This course deals with the basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. This Course Will Cover: Principal Parts of a Pistol and Different Types of Actions, and how they Function Components of a cartridge and firing sequence of a cartridge Storing Ammunition The Major Types of Cartridge Malfunctions Shooting from a Bench Rest Two-Handed and One-Handed Standing Shooting Positions Pistol Sports and Activities Course Length: 10 Hours (7:30 AM till 6:00 PM) Course Cost: $80.00 (You will need to bring a Money Order or Cash with you to the class) Requirements: Arizona Resident or U.S. Citizen (Over the age of 21) legally allowed to carry a firearm and a valid ID. Items Needed: Eye & Ear Protection, a Handgun with a strong side holster (No Cross Draw, SOB, etc.) and 50 rounds of ammunition in your caliber. NRA Personal Protection In The Home This course is to develop the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection The Course Will Cover: Defensive Shooting Defensive Handgun Skills Firearms and the Law: Possession, Ownership, and the Use of Deadly Force Strategies for Home Safety and Responding to a Violent Confrontation Selecting a Handgun for Self-Defense Sport Shooting Activities and Training Opportunities Course Length: 8 Hours (8:00 AM till 5:00 PM) Course Cost: $80.00 (You will need to bring a Money Order or Cash with you to the class) Requirements: Arizona Resident or U.S. Citizen (Over the age of 21) legally allowed to carry a firearm and a valid ID. This Course Will Cover: Safe Handling and Storage of Firearms Firearms Care and Maintenance A Brief Overview of the following: Mental Conditioning for the Use of Deadly Force Legal Issues Relating to the Use of Deadly Force Judgmental Shooting Firearm Manipulation, Marksmanship and Practice Course Length: 8 Hours (8:00 AM till 5:00 PM) Course Cost: $80.00 (This covers the course and Fingerprinting) (You will need to bring a Money Order or Cash with you to the class). In addition, you will need to submit a completed application, a fingerprint card (supplied by your instructor), and a Certificate signed by the instructor showing completion of the class along with a $60.00 processing fee to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
